PE 4

I have several hundred slides in a slide show in my timeline. I'd like to apply random transitions to the entire stack. Is that possible?

Also, is it possible to apply a single transition to an entire stack of slides after they are already in the timeline?

Thanks,
Bruce.

Random transitions is not possible in Premiere Elements. However, it is a feature in Photoshop Elements 6. You can start the slideshow in Photo Elements and then port it over to Premiere Elements.

To apply a single transition to your whole slideshow, you should select all of the stills you want in your media panel, right-click and select Create Slideshow. This will give you the option to add the same transition across the whole show.

Obviously a disappointment that random transitions are not supported by PE. Even the much smaller Nero Vision has that. There would seem to be little reason for such a large library of transitions without some easy way to utilize them.

And not being able to drag a new transition on top of an existing slide stack is also a downer. The program seems to allow the operation but just never does anything when I try it. Another reason why the transition library will turn out to be a waste.

When you say "port it over to PSE" do you mean saving the slide show to a movie file and then importing that file in to PE or is there a more direct way?

Thanks Steve. Not the answers I was hoping for but at least now I can stop wasting my time trying to figure out how to do it.

Bruce.

I created a Theme where random transitions are applied.

You can download my zip file containing the PE4 theme from the Muvipix gallery:

Here is the thread on Muvipix:

That's awesome Robert! I didn't know you could drag themes to a slide show so it took me a bit to figure it out, but it works great!

Thanks much.

Robert can do things with this program that no one else in the world can do, Bruce.

I tried looking at the files to see if I might customize the number or type of transitions and it is way out of my league. I can't figure out how or way it works, only that it does.
